Plus Fitness is an Australian owned franchised chain of gyms offering memberships at over 220 locations across Australia, New Zealand and Asia. As a progressive and fast growing Australian 24-hour gym franchise network, they approached Lanrex to facilitate migrating their email infrastructure from on-premise to Microsoft Cloud 365. The migration involved configuring a Hybrid Exchange setup to migrate their emails to Exchange Online.

Plus Fitness was looking for an I.T provider to boost their internal I.T team. If Plus Fitness completed the project internally, the project would have impacted their BAU support and operations to their franchise network by over-stretching the resources of their small I.T team. Moreover, their I.T team determined that making such a significant modification to their existing email system carried an increased risk of disruption to their current email infrastructure as they had minimal fall back options if the original plan had gone ‘pear shaped’. They also felt they might not have the knowledge required to rectify and complete the project if this had occurred.


The Approach

Lanrex quickly set into motion a clearly defined solution for Plus Fitness’s immediate needs. We assigned highly skilled technicians and engineers within a few hours of engagement to investigate and develop a full scope of works. Lanrex worked closely with the Plus Fitness I.T team to create a proof of concept and test migration for technical feasibility.

A fixed fee structure ensured the project was completed within the specified time frame and budget, ensuring Lanrex delivered as per Plus Fitness stakeholder’s expectations.


The Solution

Lanrex setup their Hybrid Exchange environment to address the project requirements, leveraging their existing email infrastructure to deliver seamless email migration with little business impact. The new email solution means that Plus Fitness now has a flexible, scalable, accessible and secure email platform that everyone at Plus Fitness can access on every device.
